WHAT?

  • Design an autonomous robot

  • Tournament style competition

  • 2 teams simultaneously race to the top of an two-sided obstacle course

HOW?

  • 2-piece collapsible frame 3D printed with PLA​

​​

  • Consisted of 3 wheels - 1 driven up front and 2 free rotating stabilizing wheels in the rear

​​

  • 298:1 gear system when provided with 3 – 7.2 volts

RESULT

  • Compact design that successfully climbed ladder side of course

​​

  • Finished top 10 in competition (ultimately lacked speed)

​

  • Learned the value of an adaptive design
